May 17: Kids Bike Swap

NYU is partnering with Recycle-A-Bicycle and Council Member Margaret Chin to host 2104's first Kids Bike Swap in the Lower East Side!

Sara D Roosevelt Park Basketball Courts (Stanton Street between Forsyth and Chrystie)
Saturday May 17, 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Community members will find free, fun activities for the whole family during a two-hour Bike Bonanza: a Kids Bike Swap, Bike Collection, Learn to Ride classes for kids, Bike Driver’s Ed clinics for kids, and free helmets for kids and adults.

Bike Swap Rules

1. Parents / Guardians and children must be present in order for a kids bike to be swapped;
2. Bicycles must fit the child in order to be swapped or donated;
3. If there are bikes left over that are safe to ride, they will be given away at the end of the event;
4. If children’s bicycles need to be repaired but are not part of the Kids Bike Swap, RAB mechanics will repair them at the end of the event if time allows;
5. No adult bikes will be swapped or repaired.

Last year, Recycle-A-Bicycle reintroduced 636 children's bicycles to local communities free of charge through Bike Bonanzas.
